Armenia is long overdue in providing hospice care. None exist within its borders. Hospice and palliative care ease the pain and end-of-life suffering. Without hospice, patients are left on their own to battle life-limiting illnesses, chronic pain, fear, and unnecessary suffering. Tragically, current practice in Armenia is to send patients with incurable conditions home. They are abandoned by the healthcare system at arguably the most vulnerable time of their lives.
