The Meduni team was honored to participate in the 5th Armenian Oncology Congress, held on February 1–2 at the scenic Eighty Eight Hotel in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia. The event was organized by the National Center of Oncology Armenia (NCO) and brought together top medical professionals from across the country and abroad.

At Meduni, we believe that medical congresses are a cornerstone of continuing education. They offer a powerful platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation in healthcare — all of which align with our mission of shaping the future of surgical education in Armenia.
We were especially proud to be represented by Dr. Gennaro D. LaBella, Meduni’s Training Program Executive and a Colorectal Surgeon at Cincinnati’s Bethesda North Hospital. Dr. LaBella was invited as a special guest and joined the dedicated team of doctors from the National Oncology Center for a series of impactful contributions:
He participated in live surgical procedures, sharing his expertise and collaborating side-by-side with Armenian surgeons
He led discussions on the latest challenges and solutions in the field of coloproctology
He delivered a theoretical session for clinical residents, emphasizing the value of continuous learning in medicine
This mix of hands-on training and academic exchange truly reflects the spirit of Meduni: bridging global medical knowledge with local action.
We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event and look forward to continuing our support for initiatives that empower Armenia’s medical community.
