Fighting Cancer in Armenia: Meduni's Mission to Improve Detection and Care

Cancer mortality rates in Armenia are high mainly because it is detected in the late stages, which makes treatment unviable. This is due to medical facilities' lack of screening and preventative care. In the past, Meduni has stepped in to mitigate this pressing issue by sending leading physicians from the United States and the diaspora to conduct comprehensive training programs for medical staff in hospitals in Armenia. Our goal is to ensure that medical facilities are equipped with diagnostic tools and that medical professionals are educated on how to use them.
